About HMB Marina

Located in the heart of East Auckland’s coastal splendour, Half  Moon Bay Marina is more than just a place to moor your boat, it’s a vibrant marine hub, a community destination, and a home for excellence on land and sea.

For over five decades, we’ve seen boats of all shapes and sizes glide in and call our marina home. In that time, we’ve grown and changed and in 2024 we reached a significant milestone: the culmination of a major upgrade that transformed the site into a leading‑edge facility. As the website states: “The major work in a serious upgrade is now in its final stages … It is impressive to say the least.”

Half Moon Bay Marina is owned and operated by the Auckland Maritime Foundation. The Foundation was formed in July 1980 and purchased Half Moon Bay Marina from Broadlands.

The Foundation is a charitable trust incorporated under the Charitable Trust Act 1957. It is administered by a Board of Trustees and its objects include:

• Promote education relating to the safe handling and maintenance of boats;
• Support the Sea Scouts and similar groups;
• Promote marine safety;
• Promote research into all aspects of marine life.
